Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive Nairobi
Arrive at J.K.I airport Nairobi where you will be met by African Savannah Holidays representative for introduction and safari briefing. Transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay and breakfast.

Day 02: Nairobi Tour
After breakfast depart the Hotel at 09.30hrs for a tour around Nairobi starting with focal points in downtown Nairobi, then proceed to Karen area where we will visit the David Sheldrick Elephant orphanage, Giraffe Center and Karen Blixen Museum. Lunch will be on own arrangement either at Makutano Restaurant or Shopping Galleria Mall. Return to our Hotel late afternoon.

Day 03: Nairobi –Samburu
Early breakfast at the hotel, depart Nairobi heading north through the lush Kikuyu farmlands with coffee, wheat and horticulture farms among other plantations. Pass the Equator and the cool central highlands and descend to the wildlife rich northern savannah woodlands. The reserve is rich in wildlife with an abundance of rare northern endemic species such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx (also referred to as Samburu Special Five).Arrive at Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch and afternoon game drive.

Day 04: Samburu
Spend the full day in Samburu with morning and afternoon game drives. During the hot day you can choose to visit the local communities living adjacent to this game reserve or relax by the swimming pool.

Day 05: Samburu – Mt Kenya
After breakfast drive to Mt. Kenya. Arrive for hot lunch at the Tree lodge located deep inside Mt. Kenya National Park. Optional guided nature walk deeper into the forest or relax and watch animals come to the water hole.

Day 06: Mt Kenya – Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, drive in a south west direction across the equator with a brief stop at the Thompson falls, then down the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park. Check in followed by lunch and afternoon game drive at 1600hrs.
Lake Nakuru is a UNESCO World Heritage Site gazetted as Wetland. It is an alkaline lake that hosts a variety of water and terrestrial bird species. It doubles as a natural game park and a Rhino sanctuary for both Black and White Rhinos. The ecosystem also provides for different species of mammals including buffaloes, Zebras, Rothschild Giraffe, a variety of antelopes and the big cats. It is also a haven for water and terrestrial birds numbering nearly 450 species.

Day 07: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara
Early breakfast and depart at 7:00am heading for the Masai Mara. We drive through Masai land passing through the Kedong and Suswa plains making a stopover at the Masai town of Narok for refueling and bathroom breaks. Continue towards the Masai Mara arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive.
Masai Mara game reserve has an extra ordinary density of animals including the Big five and many other varieties of plains game. The Mara River cuts through the Mara Serengeti ecosystem giving life to the two game reserves finally pouring out into Lake Victoria. Impressive and most notable is the wildebeest, zebra and gazelle instinct led migration from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Masai Mara in Kenya.

Day 08 and 09: Masai Mara
Spend 02 full days in Masai Mara Game Reserve. Depending on the wildlife migration patterns and the weather, you could either opt for Morning and evening game drives or alternatively venture out for a full day. Other optional activities on this day would be an early morning balloon safari over the Masai Mara plains or a visit to a nearby traditional Masai village.

Day 10: Masai Mara – Nairobi
After breakfast depart Masai Mara, enjoy en route game viewing within and outside the park as you drive through the Loita plains and the floor of the Great Rift Valley arriving in Kenya’s capital city of Nairobi early afternoon. Lunch in Nairobi on own arrangements and later transfer to the Airport for your evening homebound flight.
